HAPPY ANNIVERSARY BEBE❤

You strip me naked. Talk of being vulnerable, I become that every single time I put it down. Rawness>>>(pun intended). I’m glad I found you in the midst of finding myself, I’m glad that this journey has journeyed in the most beautiful way. Happy Anniversary Bebe❤

I love writing , it calms my mind and heals my wounds. My baby’s main aim was to teach! The men to be specific😂thus the title Teach Him Initiative. My objective was to create awareness on issues men face in our communities. It was a good catch but life happened.

Along the way I could not resist the urge of being flexible. I kept drawing inspirations from so many things that triggered me to write about them. I’m glad I shipped in . I have learnt so much in this journey . I have pushed myself to staying consistent even in days I didnt feel like it. Basically,my WHY has kept me grounded.
I have built a community, people who read my art, you all are amazing! I’m glad most of you resonate with my work .

We have grown , not yet there but there is so many reasons to be grateful. Discipline and consistency have been my driving force, cheers to many more years of consistently sharing my art.

So my baby and I will eat cake to celebrate this milestone.😊

FYI :We are officially turning one on 31st July😁

FEEL AT HOME

HOME: Could be a place or a person😊. So to you my avid reader, Feel at home😃.

Gathering words for this specific piece has taken so much time! I had prepared this for Thursday but the many times I have deleted this piece ha! Hope you love it anyway☺

I’m a Lover, I love hard! I’m a selective person when it comes to people I allow into my space. My friend recently reminded me of the much love I give to people and that melted my heart( It’s noticeable)

I’m a sucker for soft love, ( tough love is not my thing! ). I feel so blessed for having my family with me, the piece that holds me together when everything else falls apart. My first home.My happy place. Although I’d want some things to be better, I’m grateful for family.

I have made friends, few friends who push me to be better , directly or indirectly . Friends who genuinely challenge me in so many ways that I can’t even explain. This guys are my home. Their pure intentions and determination is something that I totally appreciate.

Despite all this love that I give and recieve, Do I love myself the same way? I think I do😑.I have learnt to be gentle on myself, speak my feelings out more !.

The thing is that we build homes in people,we give them the love, care and attention but we forget to do the same for ourselves. We hurt when this “homes” don’t do the same for us. Have you asked yourself why? Maybe they have nothing to offer😊, maybe they are learning to love themselves in order to show you love, maybe they are fighting silent battles and until they win is when they’ll be in a position to be a “home” for you. And it’s totally okay!

Are you in a position to stand alone when this people you call home can no longer hold you down?

My whole point is, It’s okay to meet people who genuinely love and care for you but keep in mind that they won’t always be there. Some days you will fall out and it’s totally okay . So when such happens,! I hope you are able to make it on your own.

Love,
Hilda

😉😉

Vibes and Inshallah

I wanted to skip writing this post for next week but hellooo! Somebody call 911 because next week is my freaking birthday! Alexa, play me Birthday Song By Nviiri The StoryTeller.

It’s weird how I have anticipated for my birthday since the beginning of this year, I feel like the gap between my last birthday and this , really sucked in one way or the other. Things escalated real quick and at some point I had to pause everything for a minute.

It’s in this same year that my emotions were all over the place😂; For me to write this, really means I am okay now. Transitioning from Uni to the outside world contributed much to that because I somehow felt things should go my way. One greatest lesson for me has been allowing things to just align in a way they should and not how I want them to; more of managing expectations because life is a bitch!😈

There were months I applied for jobs like crazy, I was desperate and I felt like I needed a job immediately after school, I did not realize that it was okay not to have one immediately. Most of us have been there, you relate innit?

What I failed to realize was maybe I needed time to better myself, harness my skills in the areas of interest such that when I’m called in for a job atleast I’d be able to navigate through it. I feel as the Gen Z, we fail to realize that Rome was not built in a day.
I stopped applying for jobs, and I used that time to revamp my resume, volunteer in a couple of things that aligned with my areas of interests, educate myself more.

Basically, I did what we all fail to do in such crisis. Anyway, I’m in a better space now, in the middle of answered prayers.Mashallah.

Did I mention that I’m a whole C.E.O now😭, my baby is four months now. I’m proud of myself, the ups and downs have been worth it. When everything else fails, I have one thing to be proud of. ( Lowkey vibing to Good Days By SZA).

Follow ViungoKENYA in all platform for freshly ground spices.😊

My blog will be turning a year old this month. Thank you all for engaging with me, I appreciate❤.

We are turning 1 this month😍

As cliche as it is, this new year is for me to inhale all the good vibes, accept that life happens and everything happens for a reason. Acceptance and awareness has been key for me. Live, love and let loose (been so hard on myself lol)

I’m praying for better days ahead, I’m aware there are more and more crappier days to come but hey? Allow me to focus on the now because that is all that matters.

I appreciate all the positive vibrations and I’m glad that God has always held me down through and through. So as I turn a year older next week, I’m allowing myself to be intentional in everything, it won’t be easy but we have to try right?

BIRTHDAY GIFTS IDEAS⬇

GIFTS IDEAS😂

XOXO.

A cup of positiviTea

Being a creative has proven to be taskful, you got to constantly recharge to be creative😂( Hollup! Does that make sense?)

Anyway, We are half way through the year and as usual, many of us have to go back to the drawing board, assess our progress, failures, wins, and pending goals;( somebody wake me up in Malibu, anyone adopting a bouncing 20 something baby girl?)

Please tell “the process” to hurry, some of us can’t wait to meet you😂, we still trust you though (see what I did there?)

Halfway through the year, having to deal with both good and bad days, gratitude has kept me going, I dunno what is installed for me in the remaining part of the year but I’m positive and certain that brighter days are yet to come.

I’m stepping into this month with so much positiviTea; I affirm that all things will keep working for my good.
I affirm that I’m capable and well equipped with everything that is going to get me onto the next level.

Anyhoo, a little reminder to you who feels pressured by everything: TRUST THE PROCESS, It may take a little bit longer, but that’s the beauty of the journey don’t you think?

Meanwhile, keep doing you, self-pity is a killer of joy, get up and add value to yourself. Eventually, things will fall into place.
That’s my little cup of POSITIVITEA.

Happy New Month!!

LOVE YOURZ

I randomly listened to some video online this week, I picked up some catchy words that said ‘Don’t fake it till you make it’ rather ‘Be it, to become it’.

Faking has become a thing nowadays, it’s never a new topic to be discussed, I feel that people have normalized it and it is becoming toxic to the community especially for our generation Z. There is too much pressure to making it in life to a point of people putting themselves in situations that don’t feel right.

Settling for safe is an option, but is it worth it in the long run? Therefore for us to transition into what we want to become, there is a need to love and appreciate yours because at the end of the day its you that matters.

So how do you LOVE YOURS?

1.Accept and appreciate who you are and your background

I mean, the minute you learn to own who you are or where you are from, your gratitude mindset kicks in. Periodttt!!!!

2.Don’t pretend, embody who you want to become.

Instead of faking it, start carrying yourself in high diligence equal to the person you want to become, while doing that you have to put in all the work to be the person you embody.

3.Remind yourself that everything you want comes with a price

Having dreams and aspirations is free, but comes with a price; the price of character, hard work, and discipline.

4.Invest in quality and not quantity

Having that small circle of people who are equally yoked as you is quite important, this prevents you from having to feel like you are out of place or having to fit in. I believe in having few people around who we will help each other tap into our potentials, have fun, live, laugh, and love rather than a multitude of people who don’t add value.

5.Don’t sleep on your level

The journey is yours, own it! Learn, relearn, unlearn but don’t sabotage your dreams and ideas with that imposter syndrome.

As J.cole puts it, “There is no such thing as a life that’s better than yours”.Invest in it

Back Seats

For those who’ve been to Nairobi, I’m sure you are quite familiar with the long queues that are there during rush hours when guys wait for matatus, I don’t know whether the population of guys has increased that much because some years back we were not experiencing this.

The worst thing is, you’d wait for a matatu then after those who had lined up ahead of you take their seats, guess what remains? The back seats, another horrible experience . Most people, myself included hate the back seats of the matatu because of the discomfort that comes with it especially on a bumpy road. The good thing, the touts don’t force you to occupy the seats, it is your choice to wait for the next matatu or occupy the remaining back seat.

During this scenario, it’s either you choose to experience the horror that comes with those seats all in the name of getting home as soon as possible or wait for another matatu where comfort is guaranteed and you get your value for money, most times if not all I choose the latter. Life is tough already, I can’t imagine struggling in a matatu as well haha.

Significantly in life, we get to experience such scenarios all the time, having to settle in a stressful environment whereas there are options of finding peaceful places, having to make decisions that don’t favor us but you still put the interests of others before.

Life has no formula, but I’m learning to make choices that favor every area of my life without having to endure “some” situations all in the name of it will get better someday, yet I have options.

Life is too short to experience some things that could be controlled.
